Tonight, in Plattsmouth Nebraska on their historic Main Street, Father Christmas will be taking some time off from his busy preparations to meet with area children. His Reindeer will be in toe. The town is putting on a Victorian style celebration to greet him with carolers, horse drawn carriage rides, and other holiday novelties. The Christmas Fairy is hosting a tea party for the visiting children and she has invited her friends Princess Beauty, Cinderella, and Snow White.
“What is a Christmas Fairy,” you ask? Well, let me tell you. If you have a garden outside of your house, chances are you have a fairy helping you keep tend it. If you are very still and quiet and you wait in your garden just before dawn or just after dusk, you might catch your fairy working. That’s why it’s a good idea to leave a turned over flower pot in your garden to keep your fairy dry when it rains. So, in the winter your fairy might burrow in with the squirrels, or if the winter is extra cold, she might want to come inside. Christmas trees attract fairies because the trees remind them of the garden and fairies love all the pretty ornaments and the warm lights. Your Christmas tree is a perfect home for your fairy while it takes a break from the chilly winter weather. While she enjoys the retreat of the tree she might also sneak bites from cookies and sips of egg nog. As she shares with you the wonder of the holiday, she becomes a Christmas Fairy.
Come and join our Christmas fairy tonight at Christmas on Main in Plattsmouth NE!
